Get whatever fits your needs...most peoples opinion in these forums is no better or worse than your own....analyze the feature set for each phone and see which one better suits you, thats the only to pick a phone...Someone might say that the samsung is better or the LG is better, but it might not fight your particular needs...just my 2 cents..

Sounds like your more interested in the pix/flix portion of the phone Vs the actual "communication" portions of a phone. Just based on what you have said so far the I think its very safe to say the 9800 is not the best pick for you

neither, 8100. 9800 has too many oversights to make it a good phone, 9700 is a customer service nightmare waiting to happen.

Care to elaborate? What about the SA A970 makes it a "nightmare"? Honestly, what?

i can already see the droves of customers coming and calling in with a broken rotator hinge because they turned or flipped it improperly. and of course it will be our fault because they couldnt have possible damaged their cell phone, cuz then hell would freeze over and pigs would fly.. it will be the samsung 610 all over again. i wonder how much $$ we lost on that phone due to replacing it because the customers rotated the display the wrong way and broke it.

Its not that tough a call. The 9800 is your uber text phone, and the A970 is your uber camera/camcorder phone. Go with what you use more.

For what its worth though, I think Samsung has a better rep for quality than LG.
