My Audiovox 9500 display has bit the dust, and I am READY to replace my phone with the Nokia 6256i as soon as it's available. Hopefully, it won't be a whole lot longer! 🙂

that sucks, the 9500 was an awesome phone. Battery life was horrible, but other then that, it was audiovox best phone they have ever had their name on.

To be honest with you, I bought the extended battery and have absolutely no qualms about that phone at all. I was told by Verizon when I got it that I would be sorry...that the display would go out on me immediately. Well, here we are, almost three years later, and up until lately, the display was just fine, thank you very much! Great reception and transmission, easy menu functions, certainly one of the best handsets I've ever used. A lot of flip phones could take lessons from their heavier duty flip design as well!

Could not have said it better. I also bought the extended battery for mine, and then the battery life was not to bad, but, the standard battery would not last very long. I still miss my 9500. Good luck in finding a replacement for the 9500, it will be hard to do and keep the same build quality. I am using the LG8000 right now, and that phone has been great for me, speaker phone is awesome, but you wont be able to find that phone anymore as verizon does not carry it, you would have to goto the 8100 to get a comparable phone to it. The 7000 is a good phone also, about the same as the 8000, but it does not have a speaker phone, and it does not have VCAST, which I dont use anyway.

I'm sorry but I'll have to disagree. That's the ugliest phone ever put out by VZW. They tried to give me that POS when I first joined VZW and I had to settle for the T720. I refused to get that ugly-big thing.

OK...so you didn't like the design. That made it a POS? The phone has held true to one of the most reliable flips (next to the StarTac) that was included in the VZW line up. Calling that a POS because you didn't like the look. (which alot can be argued about the T720 too)

i would have to say genrally speaking that the 9500 and the 720 were both pos headsets. The audiovox was nice if your display or battery didn't crap out and the moto, well lets just say about 1 in 100 were good phones, almost everyone came back like a boomerang. I wonder how many customers actually made it two years on their original phone?

It is a bit too 'space age' looking for my tastes, but the ugliest phone ever? Nah, I doubt it... for me, that award definitely goes out to some of the weirder-looking Nokia smartphones. As in, beam me up Scotty, this handset is too strange. 😳

And a POS? Nah again. Its one of the better-reviewed phones on Phonescoop, which you'd expect from one of the Toshiba-made Audiovoxes. Poor Audiovox... really sux for them that they no longer have a relationship with Toshiba, because most of the phones they do on their own aren't good.
