Verizon IN-Crowd: Phone Question

Let me preface this thread: please don't respond that you hope something comes out or that you are not really sure.

The Samsung 970 and 950 having been the most recently released high-end Verizon phones (I guess the LG-9800 as well - but that doesn't interest me) along with the LG-8100 and Motorola 815 - all seem to be fairly close to one another (each has its pluses and minuses) -here's my question. Have you (Verizon employees) received word or are you aware of any new phones coming out in the next six months that stand a good chance of being better than the group noted above (I'm not interested in equal but definitely better).

Thanks

I understand these new phones will be out - the Treo is not in the same class as the group I mentioned - but what I want to know is if any of the phones that will be released in the next six months are expected to be (not the same but) better than the group I mentioned.

It is my humble opinion that your question is difficult to answer. Its safe to say that phones are not even making it a full year out on the market before a newer and better model comes out. So if none of the current models interest you just wait 6 or 8 months and there will be new ones out for you to choice from.

It is not that the current phones don't interest me - they do! I think the Samsung 950 might be just want I want/need. The Nokia 6256 looks interesting as well (although its release date is questionable). However, on the other hand, I was interested in knowing what was right around the corner in this fast/ever-changing world of phone technology. Having a good camera on the phone is nice but it is far from being the most important asset - I feel the same about an MP3 player or radio. I have learned from reading through all of these threads that no matter which phone it is, someone can find a negative thing to say. Obviously, the perfect phone hasn't come along yet!

I also don't understand how we can make great strides in everything else ...

I also don't understand how we can make great strides in everything else but the evolution of the cell phone has gone so slow. They use to say that car manufacturers purposely made cars to get old in three years - I think cell phone companies do the same; however, they look at the life of a cell phone as one year or less - knowing what becomes old in a few months will have consumers digging deeper in their pockets to ensure they buy the latest phone. Therefore, companies are in no hurry to develop the latest technology that will revolutionize the industry.

Anyway, I guess this all leads to my quest for a phone that will have the latest technology and not be considered ancient two years down the line.
