How do all of these buggy phones get released????

I want to prelude this post by saying I am sorry for the rant, but I am getting tired of having every phone model I get replaced just because of bugs in the phone.

First I get the V710 which I was completely willing to deal with the lack of Full Bluetooth. The first 4 that I had contained a camera that was about 45 degrees off center. Once they got me a phone that had a good camera, the software started locking up and then the phone would restart itself - severe pain in the a$$.

So VZW replaces that with an e815. Great phone, love the features, but still has the software lock and restart problem. Only this one was doing it at least 5 times per day. So they replace that one twice and then decide to give me an 8100.

Now I have ...

thats a bummer dude, I'm sorry to hear that you are having such troubles. IMO I think this breaks down to a case of bad luck. yes, verizon puts out phones that maybe should of had some more testing, but I think for the most part they are fine. I had the v710 from the first day of release, not one problem with it... I also have the E815 since first day, agian not a single problem. Then again my post might be differnet if you had asked me six months ago, when I went through 4 lg6100. Did you get the most current software update for the 8100? that sucks that phone is still having problems. I agree they should do even more testing. Hope you get it worked out man. At least it sounds like verizon is trying thier best to get you a working phone.

They keep releasing them because the public keeps accepting them.

Motorola has a recent tradition of producing crap phones - I don't know what happened to them.

Keep in mind VZW is a niche market for cell phone makers. They have a large market share in the US - none globally. GSM phones are sold world wide. So just how much R&D is a manufacturer going to spend on a small market segment?

Ya gotta wonder just how much it annoys a cell engineer to have to produce phones for a client who actively discourages innovation.

Add to that VZW actually screwing up phones like the V265 so that the external time display didn't work. When I called Tier 2 to ask about it they didn't have a clue what I was talking about - which is pretty typical ...

Typical unrealistic expectations...

I'm so sick and tired of your people bashing VZW Tech Support because they can't answer all of your "phone" questions. I'm only posting this because I am a 611 rep and I can't take it anymore! Do you not realize that we are "Network Support," meaning we spend out days troubleshooting and resolving network issues. Many of you seem to be under the impression that most of us just sit around and play with phones all day. To be perfectly honest with you, we are rarely privy to info on physical defects in phones (it's avaialable, if I was ever off of the phone long enough to find it).

If you have a question about the network or and problem with your "service," by all means give us a call. If you j...
