You cannot record songs and put them as a ringtone unless you do it on your computer, and use the data cable with software called bitpim to access the ringtone folder of the phone. Otherwise, all recordings, music or otherwise, go straight to the sounds folder, which cannot be used as a ringtone.

As far as everyone converting to GSM, that is false.

I dunno. The government may mandate switching everyone to GSM. With the idiots that we have in office, they MUST be Cingular customers! 😉
