Questions about NE2 for Verizon agents

I'm not really sure if this have been posted ever, so I'm possibly beating a rather "dead horse", but why is it that Verizon agents (Indirect dealers) can't give their customers the NE2 deal? When I say "our" customers...I mean it. Apparently we're good enough to sell the phones and services for Verizon, but 22 months down the road, the customer comes back to me and asks about the $100 bucks on his/her phone and I'm outta luck. Gotta go to the corporate store, not ours. Better yet, even if I try to match the $100 bucks, we tend to be losing money on the deal. Not exactly a nice way to treat those who sell your product I would think, but that's probably why I'm not making seven figures. Oh well, y'all have a good night and a good weeken...

I am soi tired of hearing this question, no offfense to you pete, but there is no one stopping any agent from giving the customer an extra 100.00 off of any phone. Why would you expect that VZW is going to subsidize a handset for you???

Here is an idea for all of you agents who say that they can not afford to give the extra $100.00 off of a handset. Slightly increase the price of phones for non ne2 lines. Take your new activations, secondary lines, 1 yr contracts and full retails and charge and extra $20-$30 for handsets on thise lines, that should bring in more than enough extra profit to warrent you giving customers the ne2 credit. For example, dont have a free phone with activations, have a 29.99 phone with activation. Maybe you...

Totally agree with your answer, "celling it".

When I sold cellular in the DC market, I never worked for direct, only indirect, and we could pretty much price phones, offer incentives (free car chargers, cases, etc.) without any interference from the provider itself. What the consumers have to understand, what one hand gives, the other takes away. If you DO work through the Verizon stores, go ahead and use your NE2 if it's available IF it's economically a good deal for you. You might have to do a little number crunching, but almost every customer I serviced then or the ones I work with now at nTelos get a car charger, at the very least, and generally buy another accessory as well. You get what you pay for...it's always been the way, an...

Pete, you have to be joking right!!?!?

" Better yet, even if I try to match the $100 bucks, we tend to be losing money on the deal. "

Do you NOT think we don't? 🙄 Pretty much lose money on the majority of all phone sales! The service term is what brings it up to par!

Sorry to sound like an ass but you clearly did not think this one through before posting and probably still have not! The real question is, why would we subsidize the $100 for you? You sell your phone and wipe your hands of the customer! The biggest complaint FROM indirect is about the NE2 and upgrade offers. Maybe if they biggest / #1 complaint ABOUT indirect by customers was NOT that there is no SERVICE or willingness after the sale, the game might just ...
