Will Veizon be getting rid of Analog any time soon because it looks like almost all of the new phones are all digital and dont support analog. does anyone have info?

In my area...middle of nowhere wyoming. We lots of places that analog still is very prevalent. There are a lot bag phones still in use. I know that there are contracts with the local analog providers until 2008 or 2009. I am not sure how long after that will be before it completely goes away. I would imagine once the fed govt actually mandates all carriers to be 100% compliant with the e911, then we will see what happens for sure...

Cingular will retire analog in Jan of 2008. I figure VZW will also retire analog networks around that time too. Cingy is retiring analog on that then cuz that's when the FCC will allow them to. More than likely the same applies for VZW.
