e815, v-cast phones in general, and bluetooth

Okay, being the senior tech at a VZW store and I'm stumpped.

I had a customer come in today with an 815, a 820 bluetooth earpiece, with problems with an echo. whoever called him would hear themselves talking. The customer had said that a preious rep told him it was a known issue with v-cast phones and was in our store for a second opinion. The only phone/earpiece i knew had an issue was the vx8100 and the hsb850 for the same problem (using a jabra or an hsb830 is ok, software patch to be released to resolve, no eta) I asked the mgnt and a few of the sales reps who have 815s if anyone ever complained about a reverb when they are called. everyone said no. I would have assumed this as either a handset/earpiece problem given the discription o...

I have had this problem with every Verizon Bluetooth phone that I have had, including the V710. It did not seem to be confined to the V-Cast phones. But if I take the same headset to my Cingular phone, there is no echo. So it is obviously something in the Verizon phones that is causing it. But I am not a technician, so I couldn't tell you what the actual problem is.
