According to my Nokia inside source, the Nokia 6256i was approved yesterday for sale by Verizon! I have no other details at this time, other than it was approved. Stay tuned.

My Nokia contact told me in a follow up e-mail this afternoon that if someone is in possession of this phone now, even though it's not officially for sale, it can be activated. His words, not mine.

Let's get these phones on the floor, Verizon!!!!

That's great news! It's so typical of verizon, they got two of the best phones they have ever had, and their sitting on them. 😳

Hope it happens soon

Can you ask your friend about the Blackberry 7130t? Of course with all the crap going on between RIM and NTP, my inquiry and hopes might all be for naught.

Interesting. On one hand I am really eager for the new blackberry but on the other, I am truly fearful that RIM may have to shut down service.

I expect to talk to him on Sunday afternoon after his NY Giants and my Washington Redskins finish playing. I'll ask about the new Nokia models if we chat. As far as the Blackberry business is concerned, I would keep my eye on the papers, especially the Wall Street Journal. This is potentially a powderkeg, what with the Supreme Court involved.

Yeah, with regard to the Blackberry issue, I must admit that thus far I am stunned. Eventhough the government is exempt from any shut down, I really thought that it would never get this far as so many other influential (i.e. news organizations, large corporations, Red Cross, etc.) groups use, and depend on Blackberry so there would (or should have been) be enough pressue to let this get so far.

That said I realize that the game is not over yet and that a last minute deal between RIM and NTP may get worked out or, RIM's supposed plan b will work.
