Verizon Wireless booms with 1.9 million net adds (RCR News)

NEW YORK-Verizon Wireless continued to dominate its competitors during the third quarter by adding more than 1.9 million net customers. The strong growth was a 15-percent improvement compared with the 1.7 million the carrier added last year and handily trumped the 969,000 direct customers added by Sprint Nextel Corp. and the 867,000 customers added by larger rival Cingular Wireless L.L.C.
Verizon Wireless noted that it has added more than 7 million customers through the first nine months of this year, and that it ended the third quarter with 49.3 million total subscribers. Cingular ended the third quarter with 52.3 million total subscribers, while Sprint Nexte...

My only question is how do they figure that Verizon has added 7 million customers through 3 quarters. That is averaging more than 2 million per quarter, and they have not topped that number in any single quarter. And, in addition to that, the webcast announcing earnings this morning stated that they have added just over 5 million through 3 quarters.
Gotta love reporters....can't get anything right. 🙄
So maybe they were talkin'' bout gross adds? (I took one biz course, yay for me 🙂 )

So congratulations to Verizon. They seem to be on quite a roll, and are beatin' the pants offa everyone else. Let's see if they can keep it up.
