I'm not too much of a buff in the CDMA field, but I was wondering, does someone who has a push-to-talk capable phone, HAVE to be on a push-to-talk plan? Say if I bought a Motorola V60p and brought it into a store to activate it with VZW, would I have to be on a push-to-talk plan? Or could I just activate it under a regular plana nd not use the PTT?

Nope. If you have a PTT phone, you must have a PTT plan. There was a big issue with that when the V60P was initially released and the use of PTT phones w/o the correct plans caused some serious network issues. Sorry.
