I've been with Verizon since 11/04, which i came from Sprint. I'm a firm believer of cell phone insurance and that it's worth the $4/month. Sprint's previous policy was that you could sign up at any point, but would have to wait 30 days before you could start using it. Coming to Verizon, I didn't realize that their policy was that you had to sign up to the insurance within 2 weeks of purchasing the phone. There was some problems when I first purchased the phone online (Audiovox 9900) due to backorders, so I had to deal with a rep over the phone. At some point during the process, the insurance was not added. I didnt realize this until a couple months later. At that point, I spoke with 2 sups there was nothing that could be done. A month ago, ...

If your phone could wait until the new Nokia phone comes out. I would just go with that one.

If you speak with the the right person, and you are VERY nice, they MAY allow you to upgrade early and sign a new 2 year deal. But there is a threshold that your monthly bill must be higher than in order for them to even consider it.

If they won't do that for you, I would recommend spending the money on the Samsung a970. It has the best camera in any phone on the market right now, it has MP3, and V-Cast. It is a little pricey, but well worth it due to the camera it has.

unfortunately....if the ins was never enrolled into during the 14 day allottance, the ins company cannot legally cover the phone. One good note, however.....if you do upgrade your plan and get a new phone that way, you should be able to enroll in the insurance then.

i would go with the 8100 if you are looking fullreatail, it will set you back 350 but it is woth it in my opinion. you may also call around to a few agents in your area, some offer their own isurance that ends up being a much better deal. asurian kinda of sucks if you do the math 4.99x24= 120 + 50 dedeuctable= 170 bucks 👿 unless you have a 300 dollar plus phone it isn't really worth in my opinion, some of our lower end camera phones run in the lower 200's and asurian sends you crappy refurbs anyway!

There is also always EBAY. I got an awesome Samsung I700 PDA phone for like 200 dollars. This lil phone kicks ass it pretty much does everything for me. But if you are wanting a high end camera you may want to stick to a newer flip phone.
