I have two questions:

1. Does anyone know the release date for this phone?

2. I've 3 units for sale on ebay, I've called customer service to ask if they would be able to activate that phone if I bought one, she said that they wouldn't be able to until the phone is officially released. My question (after saying all that) is how are people getting theirs activated or are they able to?

I activated mine on line with absolutely no problem at all. Yes, if you have a 6256i, you can probably activate it online. A Verizon customer service rep said that only certain markets can do it, but I activated mine Monday morning from Waynesboro, VA, and it's working just fine, thank you very much.

The word that was given to me by Verizon is that you cannot activate them officially until November 12th, and that information is about a week old. I do not understand what the holdup is on this handset...other than maybe some kind of a marketing blitz.

Stop the nonsense..

As long as the ESN is a VZW esn , they dont' care and why would they , they make money when you make calls.

They will activate any VZW ESN anytime.

Including test phones which I get quite often from Palm and they work fine..
