Price Drops on Monday

CardinalRule

I was at my local Circuit City tonight (Cincinnati, OH), and the Verizon guy told me that the retail prices on the Samsung SCH-A970 and SCH-A950 are both going to drop $50 on Monday (Nov. 7)

Maybe this is common knowledge, or maybe no one cares, but I just figured I'd mention it if anyone was thinking of getting either one of those phones soon!

Why would Verizon change the price so soon? I just got the a950 and the rebate goes until 11/27. I have also seen the a970 rebate and that goes until 11/27 as well. I looked in my current circuit city for the coming week and it only shows the motorola e815, audiovox 8615, and one other phone.

Not sure. I was kinda thinking the same thing. All I know is I was in there tonight asking if any price drops were coming up, and those were the two he said.

He could be wrong, or misinformed, but it looked like he was reading it straight off an e-mail he had on his computer. It could be a local promotion or something, but I didn't think Verizon really did it like that. So anyway, take it for what it's worth and we'll see for sure on Monday I guess.

I would guess cause of the holidays are comming up, and the phones are not selling as fast as they hoped when first released.

Heh, sounds like Samsung's tryin' to position themselves to compete better against the RAZR and 6256i durin' the holiday season.

Makes sense, since those phones are gonna be in da house shortly, an' should be hot-sellers.

Too bad you can't get the Nokia in the Verizon store. Rather than lose my NE2 I probably will get the Samsung. I was waiting for the Nokia and have been for months but I refuse to lose my well earned $100! The Samsung sounds like a nice phone and love the looks of it. The reviews are good so far. We had people at work waiting for the Nokia that got disgusted and bought other phones.

You will be able to get the Nokia at the VZW Corporate store. You will just have to wait a little while (a week or two) after they show up in Radio Shack and Best Buy before they will show up in the Corporate stores.

I checked the website yesterday and they weren't any cheaper in my market.

Hmmm...sorry guys. At my circuit city they are, but I don't know why they would have dropped the price at some, and not the others. Maybe we have a lagging market or something. Didn't mean to get anyone's hopes up, just thought I was posting something useful...guess it kinda backfired 🤭
