Come on all you employees out there, I know you have some info for me. Anything has to be better than hearing, "Oh, I don't see anything for an Audiovox 6700 on my screen, but the Treo 650 is new, and it's available now!"
I know someone out there knows something. I just want to know when I can take a hammer to my piggy bank!
...
Is that the same thing as the HTC Apache / PPC-6700?
Some parts of phonescoop.com say it's already out on verizon, others say it is tentative.
...
Same thing...
It's definitely not out considering I called Verizon Business Sales sales today and they're still trying to get me to buy the Treo 650.
Any information on a release date would be GREATLY appreciated.
...
wow, you're everywhere keegan. so how soon until you start considering the i730 or sprint?
...
honestly, I don't really know if I will ever consider Sprint. Verizon/Bell Atlantic Mobile(and whatever else they used to be) has been great to me over the past 11 years. If there biggest issue is getting phones out to their consumers only because they want to make sure they're up to their standards, then I will stick with them.
As for the i730, it's an option, but the lack of camera kills the deal for me. Now, at least we know the 700w is definitely coming out, but I'm still holding steady for the XV6700. The sad fact is that I have had several dreams about this device, and I seriously need to make it a reality. I really shouldn't dream about a phone...that's just ridiculous.
...
responding from my treo. i have had the same dreams. it's really upsetting that i would dream about having a phone.
...
This phone really looks amazing, except that everyone that has it bitches about the battery life.
For once, I would like Verizon to lead in phone innovation, and get some of these devices before they are nearly obsolete. (come on Motorola Q!)
...
Yeah, and all those people whining about battery life on the 6700 don't understand the concept of turning off wi-fi when they're not using it. Talk to anyone who knows what they're doing and their battery life is just fine.
As for the Q, I'll pass.
...
OK I would say that right now VZW is leading in phone inovation. VZW had EVDO handsets/PDA's/aircards well before anyone else had anything similar. Right now the LG 9800 is exclusive to VZW, and when the Treo 700 comes out it will be exclusive to vzw. So what are you talking about.

Verizon will now confirm that they have chosen to deplete their current stock of 6600s in preparation for a follow-up device from Audiovox. They will also tell you that this device will be available to biz customers either the week before or the week after Thanksgiving. They will not specifically say that it is the 6700.
...
Biz customers, so that means not in the store?
What about mobile professionals? I wonder if it will have the same sticker price of 700 dollars or whatever the audiovox 6600 goes for.
...
Yes, that means not in the store, but a lot of reports say that it will be available to regular consumers as early at 12/1.
As for price, everything I've seen shows a retail price of $599.99, but no info for a 2 year agreement price has been released. I'm sure the initial release will definitely be $599.99 which is what I'm planning on paying.
You might want to check out Howard Forums for more info and literature.

The customer service person I spoke with said that they won't make the phone available to business customers any earlier than non business customers. So, either that's true or it's yet another example of customer service people actually making us dumber by association by giving us incorrect information.
...
Based on holiday timing that makes a lot of sense. They shouldn't make anybody wait longer than they've already had to. Just think, it could be on its way to me in as little as 5 days(11/21), but I'm thinking the earliest we'll see it is the Monday following Thanksgiving(11/2😎.
