6256i contact list limit - can someone please verify?

I was reading the 6256i user guide on the Nokia site (different than the user guide on Verizon's site by the way), and it says the 6256i has a limit of 500 contacts. Phonescoop says the the contact list uses shared memory, which to me means as many contacts (synched with Outlook in my case) that can be held in memory.

Can someone give a definitive answer? This is a major factor for me.

Thanks

would depend on if you have a sd card in it. 500 for just the phone, shared if you are using a memory card, so depends on the size of the card.

Thanks...but there's 8MB standard in this phone. Why would it say 500 contacts when clearly you'd be able to store more without adding a memory card?

I just got a dummy version of this phone in...where is the expansion slot for a memory card anyway? Am I missing something?

According to the Verizon rep I just spoke with, you CANNOT store contacts on the memory card, just files (MP3's, pictures, etc.). I don't know who to believe anymore.

Okay here is what I found, It stores 500 entries, but unlike most others, it allows lots of numbers per entry.. So you could have 500 names and 2000 numbers..

I gave my 6256i to my friend so I can't try it but as far as I remember the SD card made no difference. I don't think it expands it..

Well if that's the case, then the wait continues for me. This is strange - the Nokia PC Suite software says the phone synchs with Outlook...so are we to assume that once 500 contacts are synchronized with Outlook, no more contacts get added? Too bad if that's the case.

I was on the Radio Shack website looking at the specs and it says next to Phone Book Capacity: Shared Memory. Maybe you can store more than 500 names? I know this is asking alot, but can anyone with this phone try to synch with Outlook and post the results?
