YES ITS GOOD FOR VERIZON CUSTOMERS AS WELL, SINCE AFTER THE MERGER CINGULAR WILL BE (MORE) COMPAREABLE TO VERIZON, WHICH WILL MAKE MORE COMPETITION AND LOWER PRICE PLANS ON VERIZON.

I was referring to the fact that when the Cingular/ATTWS goliath emerges...Verizon will have its hands full.

You know this is funny.

I don't know how many of you have been through mergers so I will lay it down for you.

The parent company is buying the smaller company assets INCLUDING debts. Since the ATTWS GSM network is nearly identical in 95% of the same areas as cingular....... There really will not be a big change.

ALSO check this... Places that have ATTWS towers where Cingular does not may end up getting rid of those wireless towers. Why? The agreement between ATTWS and those areas that have the towers are now void. You cannot just slap up a tower cause you want to. All carriers can be stopped by the people living in the area.

Granted Cingular will pick up ATTWS customer base but by legal law Cingular/ATTWS have to offer an out to ...

Well said. The merger is something that we have been intrigued by, as to what will happen with business. Based upon recent customer feedback, the merger was just an additional reason for them to leave either one of these companies, to join us. Business has picked up dramatically lately, and the most common reason we increase customer base is because of our reception and reliable network.
