Have you actually gone to Best Buy (vs. calling them). I asked the guy at Best Buy to look up the phone in his system - 10 stores in the area had them (except the one I was in of course). So I called the one near my house to have one put aside, the guy there they didn't have it. I had to give the Best Buy sku and he finally found it.

I called the best buy near me, gave them the sku number (which was posted on here), he said its in the system but they don't have it. But said that they have a meeting at some wireless convention on Wednesday, and I should call back Thursday.

You have information that Verizon corp. stores will sell this phone? That's contrary to everything we're hearing.

Sorry it took me so long to respond,I dont know why they do this. But at times it also goes the other way around as well.Recently the lg9800 wss only available to VZW corp stores, then it was made available to the agents about 2 weeks later.Corp stores will carry the phone sooner or later but I dont have a exact date.

How do directs handle current Verizon customers that need to renew their contracts. Is there a set dollar amount off the retail of phones? Also, are you sure the Verizon stores will have the 6256i and will it be before Christmas? Thanks!

If someone came into my store wanting their 100 off a new handset...it all depended on the situation. I would thoroughly explain how an agent gets compensated and why I cannot offer that extra money off. If I merely stated, "Oh, I can't do that...you have to go to a Verizon retail store for that", the customer would leave thinking that I was just priced higher. They might tell their friends too. But if I position this correctly, not only would they understand, but I might still get the sale. On alot of phones, I can simply drop the price and offer some free excessories to offset the minimal difference. Sometimes they aren't looking for a high end phone. Then I am in. But in the best case I throw everything out and show what I CAN do ...

I agree. I always let my customers know that they have $100 credit towards a phone with VZW corporate but that I'd try to match as best as I could. I also recommend that they go to the corporate store to find out what they'd get. It shocks me as to how often I get customers back after they go to corporate stores. Some don't even bother letting the customer know about their $100! Anyone working for corporate stores should know that I recommend to MY customers that they do NOT inform the sales rep about their NE2, but let the rep inform them. Business ethics and all, I suppose this is an easy way for the Verizon corporate stores to shoot themselves in the foot if they don't keep their own customer informed. I may not be able to offer th...

There are terms being used in this thread that I am not sure about.

What is a corporate store? How is it different from a kiosk at a mall? Or can a kiosk be somehow considered a corporate store?

What are "channels"?

I am not in the business and the vernacular used sometimes goes above my head.

I've talked to a Nokia rep, 3 Verizon stores, and the Verizon customer service folks, and EVERYBODY has said that Verizon stores will not carry this phone. Maybe they're all wrong...but when 3 people say you're drunk, then you're drunk.

Don't hold your breath on this one.

I'm not sure who you talked to,but VZW reps dont really like talking about phones that will be released in the future. They would rather sell you a phone NOW and will sell what they have in the inventory.Plus its against the terms and conditions to say anything about products that VZW has not released. And what about the Sammy 570?The last poster made a comment about it and i wasnt sure what it reall meant.Later!
