You could, but the Treo and i730 have chicklets for keys. Not to mention they both suck as phones, which is the number one priority for me. For me, the goal is to carry one device for phone and Outlook contacts. That's why I was hoping the 6256i could store unlimited contacts. So the wait continues.

I simply used the Infrared (obviously my laptop has IR as well) with the Nokia PC Suite and it worked like a champ. It transferred 500 contacts in about a minute. I wouldn't rely on IR for large files, but for testing purposes, IR cost me nothing. I synched with Outlook, not Palm, so I can't provide any insight there. The problem you may run into is that the Nokia PC Suite doesn't synch with Palm. You may have to import your Palm contact to Outlook, then synch. But like I said, the phone...

Thanks for the follow up. Unfortunately my laptop is company owned and we use Lotus Notes though I do run Outlook on my old home desktop PC which has neither IR nor BT. I was able to send individual vCards via IR from my present phone or Palm and import into Lotus.
Don't give up - Nokia PC Suite synchs with Lotus Notes 5.0/6.x, if that works for you. Download the user guide here:
