Verizon is in the process of a nationwide deployment of EVDO, which is accessable everywhere. It does not have the short range-ness of WiFi. If you can't tell by VZW's current marketing campaign for "Broadband Access," otherwise known as EVDO, they are completely putting down WiFi. I would be completely surprised if they tread down the WiFi road based on their current marketing strategy.

evdo is nice for data/internet access. what i found interesting was using wifi in the home/office for making a voice call using your cell phone if the cell signal is to weak and the wifi signal is strong enough. many people have trouble using their cell phones indoors.

i recall earlies this year that a british cell company sold a phone like this. they used bluetooth instead of 802.11 wifi to make voice calls at home. i'de love to know how that phone/plan is comming along.

from the article, it looks like this is exactly what they are talking about.

BTW, sprint is doing Ev-D0, as well, and are about as far along in deployment.

There's also the whole issue of what to 5 and 10 years down the road.

Sprint is actually doing this also.. (with regards to in-building coverage, or lack there of and with WIFI.)

many companies understand that wireline is starting to decline so that it is another market for wireless companies to expand their subscriber base by increasing their in-door coverage. (i posted an article about this on this forum with regards to people starting to and would leave wireline if wireless coverage increased and improved in-doors)..

time will tell.

i am sure many companies will start to do anything to increase in-building coverage and to deploy other cool technologies..

Gee, I do to you the same thing you do to everyone else on this site, and you call me useless. I guess you are just calling your own posts useless too. I'm glad you finally realized what the rest of us have known all along. 🙄 😛

All I was asking for was your proof that these companies are looking into getting better in building coverage. You make a statement, you must back it up with links. Isn't that what you tell everyone else? Nice to see you can't even follow your own stupid rules.

by the way, the link that this person provided is sufficient enough.. there are also many companies out there providing in-building solutions..

there is a differnce between what you say and what i say.. you actually say worthless things, while i say things that arent..

i back it up plenty of times.. i mentioned it earlier, in an earlier post, and this person mentioned it now..

but to make you happy...
