i have a sami 950 and my fiance has an lg 6100. both work great outside. we live in an appartment building. my sami works prety well. drops calls very few times. her lg is constantly droping call in the appartment. she has 0 to 2 bars at best.

we plan on going to verizon to change for another lg6100. i recall that if we change more then 3 times, we are allowed to change to another comperable phone.

i need opinions on:
lg 6100
lg 5200
sami 850
any other comperable phone

thanks

I know motorola e815 is more expensive, but is a excellent phone with great features! I have heard great reviews about this phone, you should definitelly consider it, I agree w/nextel, stay away from LG's at VZW, for some reason they come up quite defective. hope this helped, I'm not too much into samsung, every samsung I've had has turned out to have crappy reception.

okay personal prefs:
low-end phones: Kyocera, Samsung, Nokia

mid-end phones- Moto, Audiovox*, LG
High-end: Moto, LG, Samsung

lg 6100 - Good, standard camera phone (when it works) few known issues, if you treat this phone nice it'll do you good. reception could be better.

lg 5200 - Better than the 6100, not any known issues I've noticed yet. reception is great.

sami 850 - Fun toy. Kinda dont like the new-style UI, but other than that a powerful, aesteticly pleasing handset. front keys are kinda figity, but not a mojor problem.

*the only real headache I have with audiovox is multipule screen problems with the cdm8900 or problems with it's charging port.

i have had mad complaints about the new samsungs with the internal antennas, stay away from them!!!! As for me if i had to choose from that list i would pick another 6100, the 5200 cheaped out on the display and doesn't feel as sturdy. Their is a new moto 325 coming out in the next few weeks( new charging port) that should be priced in the same area as these and you might be able to get one of those, but motos usually have an awful track record of being glitchy and full of bugs when they release new models on vzw. The 815 is a good phone, but they had plenty of trial and error with the 710 and it's million updates, their lower end phones, like the 265 and 276 pull great signals but their build quality, sofware stability, and charging ports a...

I agree, while LG may have its issues with some, overall I've seen a lot of people happy with their LG's especially on VZW service. Personally I would assume that if the 6100 is working for you in your apartment then it should be the same for another 6100. Good luck with the new phones.

If your fiancee's lg 6100 is constantly dropping calls indoors (an' a lotta people do seem ta say that the 6100 is not good in weak signal areas), then it sounds like she needs a 'reception champ' phone.

From what I hear, that'd be either the Motorola E815 or the Nokia 6256i. I own a 6256i, receptions' very very good, but you can only get them at Best Buy or Radio Shack right now.

Motorola's got a new midrange phone comin' out the V325, th...
