battery
can any body tell what color the battery indicator changes when there is moister in it? my girlfriend has a lg vx6000 and the hinge broke,they were gonna swap it out for 50 bucks but they said there was moister on the battery,well the indicator is pink right now and i checked my 2 month old vx8100 and it also pink,i think they fed her a sh#$t story so they would not have to replace it!!!!thanx for any info...

The normal color for a liquid damage indicator is either pure white, or white with red/purple markings on it. for a vx6000 there are several differnt types. The first is an all-black indicator that turns purple/grey/offwhite or starts to curl and fall off when wet. Another one is white/red that will bleed out and turn pink when wet. The newer ones for the LG's (lgbat-1) are kinda pink with darker red dots on them. These will lose their dots and turn a total pink.

yeah that's water dmg to the handset. options:
1> if there is a current, inactive vzw phone in possession call customer service.
2> some stores will have a Lost Stolen Damaged (hehe.. LSD) handset option available for 90.00+ any applicable activation charges. Most likely this will be a Kyocera 414 (kwckx414) or a referb LG 3100 (p-vx3100wk)
3> 6000's havent been sold for a while. she may be close to her upgrade date. if this is something that can be lived with until then (you may want to baby the handset)
4> full retail price for a new handset.
