I have a friend who has the Audiovox 8910. He has insurance on the handset and it is not working properly. What would VZW replace this with? Would it be possible to get a Samsung 950 instead?

If it's a manufactur defect it will be covered if the phone is under a year old. They will replace it with another 8910, or a comparable model.

They will not replace it with a 950.

*VZW* will not replace it with anything! Your friends TEC will replace the 8910 with another 8910, LL or AS will not sub the phone for another one unless it a discontinued model and then it goes on equal or less value. The 8910 and 950 are not even close. Sorry to say but if your friend wants a 950 he will be buying a 950, TEC is not going to be a way out for one. OR if he is eligible to upgrade he can bypass the TEC and just use the upgrade program
