According to consumer reports survey of more than 50,000 people the largest conducted to date, Verizon scored highest in every single city in the country with the exception of my hometown Chicago where they came in almost tied with U.S. cellular. It's in the 1/06 issue Cingular rated last in pretty much every single city!!!! This test was conducted in Sept. 2005 which is post merger for cingular= no more excuses for them! 🤣 🤣 JUST WANTED TO SAY KUDOS TO THE KING AGAIN!!!!!!!

Pretty much a clean sweep by Verizon, huh? That's some pretty big props. I'm sure they deserved it. 🙂

I'm not surprised at all. It's called exposure. 'TexWireless' always brings this up when people start up with the anti-Moto retoric (and he's right). If you sell a billion phones, it is an inevitabilty that so many will come back broke or defective. You sell only forty Kyocera sliders and none back back? OMG, the slider is the best da*n phone ever made!!!

Dec 7, 2005, 3:08 PM
actually I had just as many problems with the slider as any of the moto's. they all suck. I would normally agree with the statement about selling that many phones that you would obviously have problems, but it seems like every moto we have sold in the past couple of years comes back. Now granted some of that may have been due to the dumb a$$ charging port that moto has had this whole time. But that wasn't always the problem, there are many other issue's that moto's had with all of their recent models. I will give the 815 a little credit though, not to many problems.

V265=sucks
v276=sucks
T720=sucks
T730=sucks
V710-haven't had even one come back. People with this phone love their phone.
E815-see V710.
V60s=very generic, but few problems...some but few.
V120e=see V60s

v260 i think it was, also sucks
I forgot about the v60 since we haven't had it in so long. I actually didn't mind that phone. 710 we quit selling because of problems, but once they worked out the bugs it was a good phone to.

I'm surprised that the a970 was not at the top of the list. It should be.

I'm thinking of getting that phone. VZW said they would sell it to me for $200 due to all of the problems I have had recently. What is your opinion on that?

Sf like I said alot of the newest stuff isn't on the list b/c they did the reviews back in aug or sept. personally I don't like the 970

I guess this may sound lame but I'm really funny about phones. I want all the features and I do not want to have to do anything special to use them! The 970 you have to actually turn the screen to take a pix. I know I'm retarded but that just turns me off on that ph.

From what I have read, it also has a "spy mode" where you don't have to do that. Plus, I love the positioning of the camera because it allows for optical zoom to be on the camera.

I ordered it....I will let you know what I think.

I didn't know this had optical zoom. Are you sure it isn't digital zoom? But then again, I won't even order a high end phone like that for stock. The area I work in people are just getting out the horse carriages (literally as I have sold numerous Amish) so the high end phones don't move at all...

I am 200% sure it has optical zoom. I believe it is 2x optical. That is because of the way the camera is mounted in the hinge of the phone, there is room for the lens to retract.

That is why I am so intrigued by this phone.

i dont like these awards though becuase most of them are biased and they dont survey a lot of people. (yes 50,000 is a lot, but its not even close to what they have)

more importantly is that i look at the subscriber growth, or lack there of, becuase that will give a better understanding of what the techs and trends are not some survey.
...
maverick96

Dec 7, 2005, 12:39 PM
well if your looking at subscriber growth then again you will look to VZW because they far surpassed everyone almost every quarter of 2005 in growth
...
nextel18

Dec 7, 2005, 12:43 PM
yes, and becuase of that result we can see that verizon is taking share from many carriers and will soon by number 1 again. if they and cingular are on these metrics for the past 3 quarters then verizon will pass them at the end of 2006. that is why i said surveys arent a great tool to use to see about the techs and trends.. 🙂

Seriously are this "surveys" even real? I hear MORE complaints from vzw customers when they call me (the insurance), I mean they hardly EVERY have anything good to say about vzw as a carrier. So I'm not sure about this wonderful number or awards.
Whatever just wondering if they are real...

i didnt think so.. that is why i said they are very biased. anyway, it is about the metrics in my view, not some survey.

Dec 7, 2005, 1:52 PM
No all these surveys are fake Consumer Reports, Jd Power, Cingular's CEO etc, etc, etc
Vzw actually pays all of these ppl to say we are the best when in all actuality we have the smallest least reliable network and are CS is the worst! Come on guys please stopping the hatin and just say "Congratulations Vzw on a much deserved award" AGAIN!

Do you really find it a surprise working for the insurance company that you hear more complaints? Realistically, are people going to be calling in just thrilled to death that they have to make a claim after being called on their phone being water damaged/abused to the point that any problems they have are not covered by warranty? I'm sure you talk to people that don't fall under that category, but it's not like anybody is going to be super happy about having to make an insurance claim, usually that is because something unfortunate just happened. If I'm happy with my service, I'm probably not going to call Asurion to tell you about it... 🙂
