My significant other and I both have Verizon, she renewed her 2 year agreement and excercised her NE2 a few months ago. My plan is a new customer 2 year as of a few months ago. We both want to get the Treo 700W when it is released and we're considering moving into a family plan together and adding a line.
If we do this, would that reset the NE2 so to speak and allow us to get the Treo's at the Ne2 price?
Also, on one of the Treo's we'd want to get unlimited data, would that apply to both Treo's to use or just the one? If we wanted unlimied on both would we have to buy two unlimited data plans on our family plan?
thanks for any and all info.

You would not get the NE2 discount if she just recently used hers and you are a new customer which means you're not eligible for quite some time. Secondly, when adding on the unlimited data package, it only applies to each individual line. Assuming you're both on separate accounts you would need to do a transfer of responsibility and have both on one account if you wish to do a family plan! hope this helps~

That sucks...$1,000 in Treo's - may force us to wait awhile.

Yeah, but you just used the NE2 to get a new phone on her line (discount price + an extra $100) and you want to get that same deal again in 2 months?!?!? Last time I checked, the company was named Verizon Wireless, not UNICEF. If she has had her new phone for less than 15 days, you can still return it for a refund and then restore your NE2 date to use later when the 700w is released. Otherwise, full retail.

My apologies that asking a question about possibly saving some money on an otherwise $1,000+ purchase is somehow offensive to you. Last time I checked, that was a part of the capitalist system Verizon is a part of.

WOW! Are you are rep? I agree with the original poster on this one, that was a little harsh. He just asked a question. Sorry, but if I had a cust call me on the phone, I would never say anything like that. People don't know unless we tell them and he simply asked a question that did not require a smart %*^ answer. Sorry, just my opinion. I work there and some things are confusing to me, I don't expect the customers to understand how it all works. Geez! Give the guy a break!

Honestly though, sometimes it's difficult for reps to hear stuff like this. For one, it means that our fellow reps in parts-unknown are not doing their job. I, for one, take great pride in my work and put forth my greatest efforts to represent the company in a favorable light. To have a customer come in upset because a rep at another location mislead them not only gives VZW a bad name, it makes a huge hassle for the customer and makes my job that much more difficult. I know that when a customer isn't clear on something, it becomes my fault, and subsequently my manager's fault, for not bending to how he/she perceives it to be. Just a thought.

i am also a rep and totally agree here. it is a pain when people come in because others are too lazy to do their job. i generally try to find who the lazy person is and they hear about it so as to try to stop it in the future...doesn't always work of course. but also it's kind of annoying when customers do come in after owning a phone for a month or 2 and can't understand why they have to pay full retail. not saying that is the case here, just saying it ain't fun to deal with

Your NE2 would not work. You would have to pay the retail price on the phone being that you are not at an upgrade date on either line to use the NE2.
You could get a discounted price on the new line of service when you add it to the plan. Moving from single lines to a family share does not change the upgrade dates just the end contract date.
Unlimited Data is good on each line only. One phone can't "share" that with another.
You would have to add the data plan to each number.
Hope that helps..

Yo Brent! How cold is it there?

You could not get the NE2 price because you already used that. Also, are your two existing lines under different accounts? If so these would need to be merged. If they are under two different names then you would have to do an assumption of liability on one or the other. Here is a suggestion...
You could add a new line and get one PDA phone at the promotional price. Buy one for retail. And then just switch who is using which phones. Also the unlimited PDA is typically 49.99, but when coupled with a voice plan you would see this for 44.99...each line you need to put that one. Just like text messaging, one bundle doesn't cover all lines.
Good luck...

now there's good advice... nice to see one of us are thinking...lol

your original upgrade date and contract end date remain the same if you merge plans or do name changes. unlimited data is per line. either 2 unlim data plans or 2 voice and data bundles, whichever math works out best for you is what i would go with. you can have multiple single-line voice and data choice plans on one account if you want.
