Sam 950 or LG8100?

I broke down and bought the 950 while it was on sale Black Friday. Just got it today (Work for VZW and had to wait for it to ship).

Prior to today, everyone said it was a great phone. Just as it arrived, one of its owners stated she hated it. The main qualm is that even the LG 6000 which is several years old, can play music and recordings attached to pix messages. This new high-end phone, does not. Though, the 8100 does.

Supposedly, there is a software upgrade coming months from now. Ha.

So.... that being said, is the 950 superior to the 8100 on all other levels and worth the wait? Or should I go through with swapping it for the 8100?

Thank you!

I used to have the 950 but I returned it again. The reception is crappy. I have the Moto 730 and when I had them side by side, my moto has full bars and my 950 only has 2 or 3 so I returned it for the second time and opted for the new RAZR. It should have it by Friday... 😁

Remember though...those "bars" are no real indication of actual signal.LG puts 6 bars on their RSSI. But of course if you get down to 2 bars or less you have a heck of a time making a call. Samsung a670 has 4 bars...but even showing zero bars, just the tower showing, the thing will still make and receive calls just fine..

Not too worried about the bars... as they vary in how each is measured. I am more-so looking at the media apps. I had a Samsung before and reception was fine. Have a 6100 right now on another line.
Like I said, I am more worried about the pix, music, and texting options. If the 950 has more options, then I am willing to wait for the software upgrade.

cool. I was just hoping you weren't basing it on those bars. That is not a real indicator of signal. But you seem to have answered you own questions. It doesn't do what you want it to do...it MIGHT in the future, but is it worth to wait and hope that it can? That only you can answer. For me...I love the 8100. My wife has that phone and it is so freaking cool. I just don't want to part with my Motorola V710...

Thanks. Thus far, I have never had issues with LG, like I have with Samsung and Moto. (Sorry Moto). Now I just have to put up with employee accounts for the swap. I am saddened that all the other phones have the EMS option. What was Samsung thinking??

I didn't know that though...thanks for bringing that out. Did you purchase a transflash card already?

Nope... wanted to see what the deal was with it, too. From what I am hearing, the 8100's speakers blow out kinda like the 4500s did. A little worried about that. Considering the crazy deal I got on the phone through my discount... I might just stay with the 950. The 8100 is going to cost me 100 more in comparison to good ole Black Friday pricing.
I am also hearing that for the MP3S, the speakers are better in the 950. Being that the music is primarily why I bought it....
I will let you all know my further thoughts on it. (Such a hot phone).

I had both and have to say the 8100 is far superior in almost every aspect!
