When you're at the top of the pile, you don't have to do anything but maintain. What possible incentive does Verizon have to offer something as convenient as off-peak starting at 6pm or 7pm, even for an additional $5 a month when people are leaving the other providers in droves to come to Verizon? Very little churn from Verizon, too. When you're the best, all you have to do is the minimum. Now, when someone else starts competing with Verizon at Verizon's level, and actually makes a dent in their bottom line, THAT'S when Verizon will offer things like earlier off-peak, first incoming minute free, roll-over minutes, or any of a bunch of other gimmicks. Until then, dig the network! It don't get no bett

still cracks me up that people don't see all the little gimmicks from T, US Cell, Cellone, Sprint, and bla bla bla for what they are! At lesat the company knows they cant match them, let alone beat them at the service game so they use these gimmicks as blinders and customers fall right into it 99% of time!
vzw will not offer them, b/c we don't have to! why do the others offer them, b/c they know apples to apples do not even come close so they have to throw customers dumb little blinders all the time! sure its great to get 1500 mins for some low retarded price, but good luck having quality times with them or actually being able to even use...

besides, if you do the math on customer churn vs. gain you would see a different picture. cingular had a net loss of around 450,000 customers in 3q 2005. Rollover sure isn't helping, if it was they wouldnt be over 2.0 churn like they have been for a while now.
6pm night is just another way to get people to consider a company based on something other then coverage.. they dont have the coverage to leverage so they ...

I do not know about the others you mentioned, but, as for USCC you have good serivce with them. And I would bet that if a person did not do much traveling and used their phone locally, a lot of those other carriers would be fine also, and then you get the benefits of the early night...

Unless you're in Chicago, chances are you're roaming on someone elses CDMA network.
In the race, Sprint is more in the running (if at all) to VZW then Cingy or Alltel...
Or, I'd love to see us add an Unlimited TXT for something like $19.99 a month. Our current TXT pricing is stale. I've talked to countless customers who have exceeded the 2500 messages for 19.99 a month, and are desperate to upgrade. We have nothing to offer (if they're mostly txt'ing out of network). I've even had people ask if they could buy two 2500 pkgs for ...

I agree with the others that VZW has no reason to offer earlier N/W. I'd much rather see us revamp our text messaging packages. I don't think charging .10 cents per message has had the effect on selling packages that we'd hoped. The IN bundles are great, but they should boost the out-of-network limits to make it more attractive. 50 out of network messages isn't so wonderful.
