bars but no calls
i'm guessing that the phone is not strong enough to transmit to the tower, but that the tower signals are somehow reaching the phone.
anyone have any experience with this? is there a way to boost output power besides a special antenna? is there a software setting?

my lg 6000 phone shows 4-5 bars of reception, and rings when an incoming call comes, but can never answer the call. nor can i make outgoing calls - it just tries until i receive a call failed.
