Hate my T-730

😡
I am on my second replacement of this phone since September of 2003. The phone has a mind of its own.
Should I take it back to the VZ store for a software update?
How does the VZ insurance policy work when you lose a phone that is no longer offered in their stores?
Did they pull this phone because it was a bomb?

Help would be appreciated.

Don't base assumptions on other people's experiences. The t730 works absolutely fine for me.

I have to agree with muchdrama about not going with other people's opinions about a phone. But you should listen to other people's actual experiences with phones.

I had the T730. I had the T720 before that. This was by far the worste phone that I have ever had. It would freeze up at least once a day, requiring me to remove the battery and then replace it. I couldn't make calls for very long because either the phone would shut off, freeze up, or just drop the call all together. I had 3 of these in a 6 week period and they were all this way. It was actually worse than the T720. These phones are why I don't like Motorola.

Having said that, I realize that there are many, many people that are very happy with thier T720 and T730 ph...

It depends, what is the specific problem of the phone?

How does the VZ insurance policy work when you lose a phone that is no longer offered in their stores?

Our insurance company (Asurion) has every discontinued phone model in stock, so when you lose one that we no longer sell, 99% of the time, they still have the same refurbished phone to send you.

Did they pull this phone because it was a bomb?

Let me just say that this model has had much more prob...

So if I took out a 2 year contract on the phone line in September and then upgraded the calling plan in March, when would I be able to get a replacement for the phone as a new instrument?
Now - my daughter and wife have their StarTac's each for 3 years. I could get a new phone on their plan and swap the phone.
Give one of them my t-30 and I take a newer one?
They actually like the phone.

Ah, the fabled StarTac. You'll be able to upgrade your phone 22 months into the plan you signed in September. And yeah, you could finagle your daughter or wife out of their phones.
