Has anyone seen a commercial for the verizon razr? I thought we would see a flood of them after the release date.

Nope, not me. Perhaps they are using early adopters like us to see if there is any "issues" with the RAZR in the 1st week or 2 before a mass marketing effort.

Good point. I would only guess that since they were the last to get it (which I think all of the majors do now), they will just let the others do the selling for them.

I do know I'm about to go get the LG V phone if they dont stop showing that damn commercial. 🙂

I am actually glad that there are no commercials for the RAZR out there. We already get enough people thinking they are entitled to a discount on it just because they want it for a Christmas present. I understand that budgets may be tight around this time of year, but I'm not going to sympathize with anyone who is just trying to take money out of my pocket. When I was young and my parents couldn't afford what I wanted, I didn't get it. My parents didn't try to make the company that made the product feel bad for charging too much for it.

I honestly just had a guy uprade his phone to a MOTO E815 on his kids line 3 months ago and he called to order a RAZR for that line for Christmas. When I advised him it would be $419.99 + shipping, ...

He shouldn't have bought the E815 or told his kid to be happy that he has a very good phone in the 1st place.

You can't afford to not work right? 🙂

I'm glad I didn't talk to that person. I would have laughed my ass off. I would be happy that he would have provided me with the best customer story of the day though. Nobody could top that.

Very well said and I think I must have had the same guy because I had a very similiar call.

Since the RAZR has come out, I've never gotten so many people on the phone asking to upgrade early and thinking that VZW reps are a bunch of SOBs if they can't.

I mean, I'm getting people with $39.99 plans, past due every month, and just upgraded 3 months ago!!

I'm glad it is not just my center getting these calls. I am HOPING that people stop begging for them after Chirstmas. 😛 The last time I remember a mad rush was when the Treo 650 was released. Again, everyone thought they were entitled an upgrade, although they weren't!

anyone remember Spirited Away? Almost no press, the majority of the publicity for this movie was word of mouth and the anime rags. sometimes you don't really need press to push a product. Phone related example: the 9800 didn't get much press for like a month after it's release

oh yeah, my point with spirited away is that it beat every other animated film that year and was Re-released (a frist for buena vista that wasn't one of their own)

I personally think that VZW is doing the right thing here. Just because the phone is new to VZW doesn't mean that its new to everyone else. the RAZR was last years "it phone" this it is definitely the 9800. I'm not knocking the RAZR its beautiful but its time to think in the now.

I agree with you, by advertising that they have the new razr is just showing that they just got a phone that other carrier has had out already, and it is a good thing that they are not advertising it with cingular advertising it on tv for $99.99. I looked at the razr the other day, looked ok, but, looks like I could break it easy, I will stay with what I have. More power for the people that like it, different strokes for different folks, whatever flips your trigger.
