Can anyone tell me why Verizon can't (or won't) put out a smartphone for around $200.00. I don't want a PDA but I would like to be able to sync my contacts and calendar from me e-mail client. Cingular has 2 smartphones for $199.00, hell Nextel even has a windows smartphone. Verizon had a Samsung but discontinued it without a replacement. Does anyone have any information or rumors of a smartphone coming out anytime soon for Verizon wireless?

I don't want to pay the $40.00 a month for the e mail service, which I don't need. The 9800 is not a smart phone, I repeat, the 9800 is not a smart phone. The 9800 is a pretty cool phone and does some pretty neat things but it is not a smart phone and will not give you the options a smart phone will.

The fee for the email service on the 9800 is not $40 per month. It is a one time $20 dollar fee to get the software set up on your phone. Then you get emails from your POP3 or IMAP email account at no charge.

Incorrect... it is not a one time $20 fee for the Wireless Sync Email for the 9800. It is a Get It Now subscription rate of $19.99/month for the Wireless Sync Email on the LG 9800. It also uses airtime while on Wireless Sync, just like the Mobile Web, unless you have the VCast Package for an extra $15/mo. Then you would have unlimited email and mobile web, but that would run you a total of $34.99/mo. Understand?

That is not what I was told by freedomrep as well as other Verizon sales agents in my market. I was told that, as long as you have the V-Cast V-Pack, that it is a one time $20 fee to set up the software and no monthly fee for wireless sync. If that is incorrect, I apologize. ...
