I've been searching for a new carrier lately. I've had V before but they don't offer some of the options or pricing plans that other carriers do. I was wondering if anyone out there knows if V will offer the option to buy down our nights and weekend times like a couple of the other carriers do?

"V" as Verizon or "V" as "The "V" phone (LG 9800)? How many minutes would you need, and how much money is more or less reasonable amout per month for you? Add your txt/pix/web etc to the total amount.

"V" as in Verizon. Sprint and Cingular offer the option to change your nights from 9pm to 7pm and even as early as 6pm for ten bucks more. I've looked at T Mobile and there offering 1500 for 40 bucks. All three carriers have excellent reception in my area, so for me it boils down to cost. I was just wondering since "V" doesn't have a huge bundle of minutes for very little, will they offer this option (earlier nights) for those of us who do most of there talking from 5 to 9.

who knows with verizon. If the carriers you mentioned have great service for you and work where you will be traveling, then go with them, you might as well save the money and get what you want, as of now, verizon does not offer early nights, even at a higher cost. If you do a lot of traveling, then you might want to look at verizon, as they are pretty good for that. You need to get what works for you and at a price that is good for you. Over at howard forums, someone said that verizon is getting early nights january 18th, I think that was the date, but, I would treat that as a rumor, untill you see it on verizon's website, or advertised by verizon, I would not hold your breath for it. It would be a nice feature, I would jump on it, but,...

Verizon decided to offer unlimitd mobile-to-mobile in place of the 1000 mobile-to-mobile minutes they used to offer in their plans. But when Sprint, AT&T (now Cingular in most markets), T-Mobile, & Cingular jumped on the nights & weekend minutes starting at 7pm, either at no cost, or for up to $10 more a month; Verizon mentioned they weren't jumping on that opportunity. So far, they still haven't done so, and neither has Alltel. US Cellular offers that option for people in their coverage area, but with most of their plans, you pay extra just to get night & weekend minutes, because most of their plans offer generous anytime minutes. Same with mobile-to-mobile, you pay extra on most plans. To peteacher: I would go with what works best for...

as discussed several times before.. there is no reason for us to change anything as long as were doing quite well against our competition.. something may change though if we eventually stop embarrassing cingular.. tmobile offers a grip of anytime minutes for a cheap price, but compared to us, they're network isn't as strong or as large as ours is.. tmobile knows this which is why they have to offer that extra incentive for customers..

All correct.

I wish VZW would stop embarrassing Cingular tho', or that T-mobile would put together a much bigger/better network to go along wit' their great prices.. the mo' heat that gets put on vzw, the better vzw's prices/deals will get, which i...
