COME ON VERIZON MAKE SOME GOOD PHONES!!!!!!!!!
It is like building the autobon but only being able to drive a Yugo on it, it is like creating the greatest and must plush resturant but only serving hamburgers and hotdogs....

It hasn't. But its fun to say I guess. 🙂
Personally, I think VZW's phone selection has gotten a lot more proper lately. Phones like the RAZR, Nokia 6256, Moto e815, LG 9800/V.. all tight phones. The 6256 even has full bluetooth.
I look over at the gsm side an' don' really see anything that looks like a 'gotta' have. Maybe the Sidekick 2? Even the SLVR don' really matter to me, 'cus like the RAZR, I'd imagine it'll come over to the cdma side 'ventually.

I agree with you that their phone selection has caught up with the competition, but, you can't include the 6256i in that statement. IMHO, the 6256 is nothing more than a more stable Moto t720 with bluetooth. It looks just like it.
Check the user reviews.. the 6256 is actually rated better than the RAZR or the e815 (an' of course light-years ahead of the t720). Peeps luv this phone. 🙂
It also has 'bout a zillion features the t720 never dreamed of havin', even not countin' bluetooth. Though I'll grant ya there is a superficial physical resemblance.
B. The Razor is not new, might be new to vzw but not new, which is my point exactly. Vzw is rolling out the newest technology in the razor but the phone has been out on other carriors for over a year.
C. If you dont think Cing and Sprint are catching up on VZW your crazy. Yes i still believe VZW's network is above all others but the competitors are catching up, not there yet but are catching up.
I didnt create this thread to debate phone sizes and phone preferences but just wanted to say w/ the superior network why not offer superior handsets.... thats it.

A. The Razor is not small it is thin, there is a difference. Would you carry around a phone the size of sheet of notebook paper and call it small?
Used ta agree wit' you there, but after playin' with a RAZR in Circuit City recently, I've changed my mind. The RAZR is actually acceptably small. I used to think it was too tall, but the internal antennae form factor helps.. my Nokia 6256 is actually taller than the RAZR, due to the external antennae stub.
The RAZR *is* about a quarter-inch wider, but thats nuthin' to lose sleep over.

VZW has seldom boasted the newest phones on market. Since everyone likes using the RAZR as an example... when it first came out a problem I heard a lot about it was that the metal used for the keypad would crack, or that the display would blink out. VZW often lets other companies go through the inital "growing pains" with the newer phone models before having them released on there service.
That's true, an' one of the advantages of not bein' first to get a phone.. all the other carriers get to 'beta test' it for ya 🙂
But to be fair, some problems still slip through.
I am also very happy with the 8100. This is a good quality phone. I have no reception problems, the phone feels great, looks great, has all the new technology that I will never use anyway.. but its still there.
Overall I am happy with Verizon.
Verzion may comission a phone to be converted to their network, or specifically made for their network. Or a Manufacturer depending on "demand" and "allotment" produce a CDMA phone for Verizon.
CDMA Phones for Verizon Wireless carry a higher manufacturing cost, not only because ther rest of the world uses a flexible, modulular GSM transciever. and CDMA carries a higher lisence fee.
But also because VZW commisions for custom firmware.
Firmware that operates the phone is usually PLUGABLE (Just like the Phonenix BIOS/Award BIOS on PC's) an OEM can use modules to compile the final image loaded onto the FLASH.
So most of the firmware code between the phones are grossly si...
