Unfortunatly outside of publicly disclosed Mod info there idnt much direct channel reps can say because of NDA's.. You can expect it to be competitive with the market valuewise. And with a duel speaker phone like the 8100 it sould sound great.

Question....I've heard that the reason the 8100 isn't on the website right now is because the ones they have are loaded with V06 for MOD and can't be sold until it releases. I won't be able to use MOD when it comes out because I don't have VCAST in my area yet (supposedly soon, but ??????) would I still benefit from getting my current 8100 (with V04 on it) updated to V06 when it's available and if I do, what will it do to my phone?

in-store we're reflashing all the ones with 06 back to 04. which makes me wonder what happend to 05.

Is that the problem? V06 is no good, so they are temporarily unavailable until the reflash?

What happened to 05??? What happened to 2 and 3??? They just went from 1 to 4 and now 6. Oh well, 2 and 3 probably sucked anyway.

My understanding is that once the upgrade is done it will not allow you to play any files in MP3 format. Only in the new windows format that is being used with MOD. Haven't seen this myself just heard a few things. So if you aren't going to use the service you might be better off not upgrading s/w
