Free SPAM on You Verizon Wireless Bill!
I don't know when the Wireless Worlds Protagonist against unsolicited this or that (Do Not Call, Wireless Directory, SMS Spam) (Danny et. al.) Verizon Wireless decided that its cool to put free spam on your paper bill.
Usually appearing on the first (color lazer printed page) I wonder how they assemble it back together correctly if the other 3 or 4 are printed on less-than black and white copier paper.
However this color printed page (that also has the red stripe has the ability to carry any colorful spamvertising VZW got paid for)
On my last bill

I was advised that Verizon is now available at over 100BJ's (Costco Like Discount Club) locations and I should go there to visit them
(list of locations is on V...

VZW has also opened VZW staffed kiosks inside of BJ's locations, same has they did at Circuit City about a year ago, is it so bad that they tell you about it. With all of the people who complaini about the lines at VZW stores I would think people would love the fact that VZW expanded there store locations by over 1000 stores.
I was the one being flamed here last time I checked.
I was defending myself not trolling this forum.
I just posted 1 gripe and recieved 200 responses.
To which I replied. I also replied to some real questions - with what I think are real answers.

*228 is OTSP or Over the Air Service Programming.
There is also *228xx - (e.g. *22899)
*228 option 1 will download new software to your phone (if possible and needed), re-provision your phone if it had been unprovisioned, reload the MIN settings and force reload your equipment
(such that it can reboot and run the new software/patches updates to the firmware, load new MIN settings into its memory)
*228 option 2 will download provisioning roaming codes and prefixes, roaming preferences, and ids.
If you push you equipment into Service Mode, you can see the changes that are delivered with OTSP.
Prior to OTSP you had to take your phone to a dealer to update firmware if there were bugs that would c...

I don't know how - Cable Vision of America and Verizon Wireless made a "DEAL" but I think an equivalent deal can be made with any spammer.
(Ticketmaster for example and PRE-SALE codes/passwords)
Sorry, that it took 2 days for someone to actually find the document I enquired about.
Mea Culpa for Disturbing the pro-VZW community with anti-VZW statements.
Sorry.

Have a great night everyone!
After you've allready resolved the gripe you came with......
do you think aliens were in your room last night too?
No it's just kind-of funny to see the #1 ANTI SPAM Speach Maker, The one who cares very much about customer privacy allow this to happen on his printed bills.
Thats all.
Oh tell me its not ADVERTIZING.
Oh tell me somehow Verizon Knows that I like basketball.
Tell me I can opt out of this when its printed right on by bill.
SPAM is defined as UNSOLICITED BULK ADVERTIZING: What appeared on my last printed bill is A) Unsolicited, B) I'm not the only one that got it (hence bulk) and C) Its advertizing
So that equals FREE SPAM on your Verizon Wirless Bill?
No?
It's like ying and yang.
I've read the works of a man whom I respect for some of his principles, who also happens to share the same fist name with me.
Thats why I said he's a nice guy. Really. He is.
It's just the contradiction so pure and unadulterated as printed advertizing on a paper I cannot shred unlike the publishers clearing house stuff is very contradictory to the VZW Corp PR and Strigl's
Writings.
