I don't know if EV-DO can be depolyed in 800 only band markets. I noticed it's only available in markets that uses the 1900 band. Certain services are tested in the biggest markets first before they're expanded in other markets to see if it takes off. The wireless internet service doesn't offer the fastest speeds in all markets either. EV-DO is available in my area overall, but they're not available at my house. That will likely be temporary as they try to add that feature to towers they're on. If you're in a cellular band only market, it may take a while for Verizon Wireless to offer EV-DO in your area as it needs additional spectrum to offer that feature. What I've heard is there really aren't any huge plans for expansion right now. They are trying to get the number of subscribers up in the current areas before they expand it out further.
