Q4 Results Due Soon - Is Verizon Just Gonna Romp Again?
Its almost that time again.
For what its worth, I kinda hope Verizon DOESN'T smoke everyone like it has been the last several quarters.
While I love the service & CS (which has been great), I'm gettin' kinda sick of VZW's feature-crippling ways (bluetooth, mp3s) and would like to see SOMEONE put the fear o' god into 'em and make 'em 'play nice' with their customers.
Unfortunately, I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. The competition jus' doesn't seem like its there yet. âšī¸

Well, I can tell ya from the deception and consequent screwing I got, I'll be leaving Verizon as soon as possible. Last year when their Promo was 400+100 = 500 min per month we resigned. Come to find out that extra 100 minutes is only good for the 2nd phone. Am I the only one who was dumb enough not to read the fine print? Cuz the reps sure didn't mention that. đ˛

The promotional plan that ran last year for the bonus 100 minutes when towards the total allotment for all lines on the family share plan. It is billed on the 2nd line, but those 100 minutes can be used by any phone on your family share. I suggest you take a close look at your bill and if need be go into a store to speak with a representative if it doesn't look right. I've never seen anyone with a billing problem from that promotional plan, I work in the Northeast, but I highly doubt the promotion differed by market.

You'll probably get your wish, guns. The way things are goin', Verizon should be takin' the number one spot away from Cing late this year.
If that slap across the face don' motivate Cing, I don' know what can. I get the feeling that Cing's gonna top the one million net adds mark an' then pat themselves on the back, apparently not rememberin' that one million net adds is (tiny little) T-Mobile territory now, an' that meanwhile, Verizon regularly flirts with the two million mark.

Verizon will ADD approx 1.7 million customers, Cingular will LOOSE approx 1-1.2 million with Churn. Time 3rd Quarter rolls around, Verizon will once again have the largest customer base. I expect T-Mobile to be around the same as last quarter.
I see a possible buyout of Altel or possibly Us Cellular in 2006, or early 2007 as well. ;)

Cingular has had a lotta problems with churn, but I can't imagine that it'd get so bad that they'd actually LOSE customers overall. đŗ
Of the nationals, I think only the old ATT Wireless, when it was imploding (after f***ing up on LNP), managed to do that bad.

I think it'll take the 4th quarter 2006 results to push 'em over the top, but over the top they'll go. Sry, Cing.

I expect verizon to do alsmost as good as Q3. BUT, I also expect Cingular to do much better than Q3 đ (consider the Fam Talk plans $49.99/$9.99 - $59.99/$9.99) I'm pretty sure this will hurt verizons add ons; maybe not significantly, but some.
Also, Cingular is taking better care of former ATT customers as they migratate over. (offering bonus minutes to those customers who would had been screwed by migrating) This is reducing churn, and is also helping get the word out that there's actually a better network offered to them, and that all they have to do is migrate....

Also, lots of Nextel customers have been jumping ship. Question is, who will be able to capitalize more.

If our Q4's affected our paycheks I'd care. I'm just a tech so it doesn't matter. Try to use the q4 bragging rights on someone who came in for signal issues in a known drop zone.

Ok, you don't care, noted. Though if you didn't care, why'd you post to a thread to say you didn't care, really don' make much sense.
*I* care, 'cus for good or bad, stuff like quarter results affects how big corporations like Verizon treat me. If VZW is ho-slapping the competition, like they have been, they're less inclined to do things like cut prices, up minutes, offer early nights & weekends, and have more progressive policies towards stuff like bluetooth and mp3 crippling.
