Verizon vs. Cingular

I currently use Sprint PCS and am in the Chicago area. I was thinking of switching to Cingular or Verizon Wireless. I like the Motorola flip phones and would probably get a V600 if I went with Cingular (GSM) or wait for the V710 if I went with VZW (CDMA). What does everyone else think? I like VZW's high service-marks and some websites make it seem CDMA is better. On the other hand, most of my friends recommend GSM because you get a SIM card in your GSM phone. Of course, the V710 (CDMA) has a card slot, so that's kind of moot in the sense of keeping your address book, etc. from getting lost (assuming the V710 lets you save that stuff on the card). Plus, the V710 takes and plays video, which sounds pretty damn spiffy. 😉
