Question on 950 & 8100 and VCAST Music PROMO

Both these phones, and an audiovox all now have the VCAST Music available, but it seems like in-store ads, on the Verizon Wireless website and TV commercials that they are only advertising the 950. Why is that?

probably because the initial launch of the 8100 software had some bugs and they have really been pimping that phone in the past so just decided to push the sammy for a bit.

My company recalled our 950's. They said it was because the 950 does NOT support the VCAST music downloading feature. But, it will still play mp3 music. Was that just us or what? Especially curious if that's what's being promoted and we're being told it doesn't work...
Thanks!!

It must just be your company. Maybe they didn't have the software installed on the ones you had. Not sure, but the 950 is working on the VCAST Music now.

If they had a purchase date of before Jan 16th, then they have the old software. If you click on the menu and go to get tunes and tones you should see the first option as being Get VCAST Music. If that isn't there...you have the old software. If the customer doesn't care and just wants to use this as an mp3 player...you don't need the new software. Some of our phones were recalled too, but only the ones that we were supposed to have "flashed" to make work with VCAST music. There was something wrong with the phone where it wasnt accepting the update

Just had someone call and ask...
Does the E815 support VCast music store? If so, I'll probably need details. If not do you think it may be a future software download that's thought about?

I think that the E815 will be phased out soon at least in my opinion. I wonder if Motorola has another phone ready to takes its place.. or is that UTStarcom/Audiovox VCAST phone is going to take its place???

Will have to wait and see I guess.

The Samsung is the one that just happens to be on super duper special this month... next month it'll probably switch back to the 8100
