AirCard w/ voice plan

The promotion in my market is this:

Unlimited broadband service for aircard:

WITH voiceplan: $59.99

WITHOUT voiceplan: $79.99

Customer came in today and mentioned he had an aircard w/ Verizon, and I suggested he activate a phone w/ Verizon so he could save money on his monthly bill for his aircard

Question: Does this $20 price drop automatically go into effect? Or do I need to call customer care to change his rate? I'm assuming I have to call customer care for this, which I did..and the care rep wasn't aware of the promotion and was unsure of the answer. Does anyone know for sure?

You'd need to call in. It's going to be a different code in the billing system. I would just call back and get a different rep.

Or... maybe look up the code and change it in the billing system... not that if you had gotten me on the phone I wouldn't have done it... because I would have... but every call to customer service costs the company 7.00. Why spend the company $ and deplete our bottom line when it is something that can be handled in store? We all have the same tools...

If it was an indirect agent this may or may not be something we can do. I personally haven't tried, but we are very limited at time.
