New Verizon TV Network

According to today's New York Times, Verizon is starting a subscription television network. No dates announced yet.

"Desperate Housewives" on Line 1? Almost.

The mobile service provider Verizon, the phone makers LG and Samsung and the wireless technology company Qualcomm plan to start a TV network for the phone, perhaps as early as October.

In Europe and South Korea, broadcasts already go to phones like LG's V9000 and Samsung's SCH-B250. Qualcomm is now building its network, which is separate from Verizon's, but its operating area will follow the coverage path of Verizon's V Cast, which can currently send video clips to an area encompassing about 150 millio...
