ok so here is the deal....

verizon says you cannot use any of their phones as a modem without being charged for data. They say there is no way that i use my v710 as a modem and only get charged minutes and not data time. They say that if i am connecting it is only as a dial up call and not on 1x @ 120k But that is exactly what I do all of the time... With no charges other than minutes.

So here is what i need help with???

Am i just lucky that this is working this way and who the hell knows why? Or is anyone else doing this also without using data time and just minutes?

You don't have to have a data package to use the V710 as a modem. You can use the mobile office kit with the V710 and just be billed minutes for usage. No conspiracy, but also isn't free. You can continue, though, just being billed MOU for the V710 w/ no issues.

And besides, with the Class Action suit against them because of some of the features they withdrew from t...

It's moreover based upon how much you do. If you're doing hundreds of MB in data transfers for free on EVDO then they'll get ya. Ya link up to check your email and up spending 10-20 MB in one month you'll fall through the cracks.
