All you need to do is ask any person you know who uses Sprint...especially after the "merger"...try to find one who has used both Sprint and Verizon...I 100% guarentee they will tell you to stay with Verizon!

When I sold Sprint, I had nothing but complaints with their service and coverage (no roaming coverage anyway). I got more complaints from my Sprint custoerms than any other carrier I sold at the time (I was selling Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Nextel, and Cingular at the same time). And to top it off, we sold less Sprint than any other carrier and still had more complaints from the Sprint customers! MAJOR billing issues, charging customers to call their customer service, roaming issues, un-true coverage maps, etc.... That being said, this was a few years ago, however a friend of mine sells Sprint and he tells me "you think it was bad when you were selling it?" Guess it's gone all downhill for Sprint since. Just what I've heard...hope this help...

That is interesting that you bring up the merger. I have sprint right now and have for the past year. Since the merger took place, my coverage has gone downhill. I wasn't sure if it was because of the merger or some other reason. I am seriously considering going to verizon.

Wow, do you know why? (after the merger it all went downhill)

No, I am not sure. I used to have coverage at my house (although only 1 bar) and now I search for service frequently. I contacted sprint and they told me to write down the places it didnt work, the time, date, etc and they would look into it. I appreciate that but it still doesnt help me right now, ya know?

I understand completely! I hope you find a carrier that meets your needs! 😎

Mainly because of superior coverage. I would love to get away from VZ because although their coverage is good, and they 'used' to have great customer service, they are really screwing the pooch recently with the way they are changing their various plans and poorer customer service.

However, their coverage is still the best for most areas, and until other carriers can improve their coverage, VZ will stay on top. They will get hit really hard once other carriers catch up though. AT&T went through the same scenerio years ago.

I had Sprint for four years, and everytime you call them, for whatever reason, somehow your contract was renewed for two years. Their customer service is so over-the-top attrocious. They just simply do not care. Now I know you'll run into reps with VZW that don't care, but on-the-whole, VZW as a company does care about customer service. Sprint does not. No matter how much you complain, they will NEVER issue you a credit for anyting other than the most egregious billing error. Their discounts on upgrades are horribe ($150 off FULL RETAIL at best). I like the phones they offer, and the coverage in their own area is great, but their network is too small, and all the other issues add up to a sh*t company. HOWEVER, if I were leaving VZW, t...

I'll do a little comparison between Verizon and Sprint. I personally have Verizon and love it and I know people who have nothing but aggravation every month from Sprint:

Verizon:
-Superior network, coverage and clarity
-Excellent customer service (you always speak to someone who's native language is English)
-Very few billing problems
-Add text messaging or any features without adding to the length of your contract
-NE2 program: stay on the same plan for 22 consecutive months and be eligible for $100 towards the purchase of a new phone under the contract price if you take another 2 year contract ($50 after 2/1)

Sprint:
-Make a call w/o dropping a call, I dare you (Brooklyn, NY)
-Lack of a network
-Poor customer service (I'm pre...

Many people on this forum are blind Verizon fans and will never criticize the almighty VZW. If you read my posts, you will see that I am not one of them.

However, in the area where I live (Western PA) and the areas that I travel, Sprint cannot hold a candle to Verizon in terms of coverage.

I am out out of contract and am debating whether or not to exercize my NE2 and be stuck with Verizon for another two years or to switch to another network. In any case, I would not switch to Sprint; their coverage sucks in the areas I need it.

However, if Sprint works for you in the areas you need it, and if their calling plans and phones meet your needs, then stick wirh Sprint.

At the present time, there are no major wireless carriers that des...
