Delayed Texts and Voicemail

Not sure if my problem has to do with my phone (v60i) or verizon service itself but here goes..
sometimes when I send text messages it takes a day or 2 for them to send and vice versa it takes up to a day to receive my texts and voice mail messages. This starts to become a problem when my phone is off because missed calls don't register while the phone is off and i have no idea that people are trying to contact me and leaving messages.. any help would be appreciated.

--also i have updated my phone several times using *228.. i was told that would help the problem but it hasn't changed much.

Calls/datum are routed through the towers and switches in this order.

1) 911 Calls
2) 611 Calls
3) Regular Calls
4) 411 Calls
5) Text messages/data calls/message waiting indicator
6) #min information

As you can see, if there is a large amount of traffic, the txt message may sit in the switch for a while waiting to be sent out. Txt messages are not guarenteed to arrive and if the issue is urgent/critical you are advised call from a landline if posible.

Three other questions, *228 option #1 when if ever is that used, and what does that accomplish, and could it degrade a phone?

*228 opt 1 is the initial programming. Tells the phone what phone number it's associated with. *228opt2 should only be used every 3 months unless used as a troubleshooting technique due to the phone not operating correctly, otherwise it can cause software problems resulting in the need for a factory reset. (No physical damage, but a factory reset is always a pain.)

*228 is NOT a fix-all. If a phone is not working properly then.

Step 1) Remove the battery for a few seconds.

Step 2) Leave the phone off for 15-30 mins.

Step 3) If you haven't done *228 option 2 in a while, do it.

Step 3) If convenient, leave the phone off for another 15-30 mins.

If this doesn't fix your problem, you need to call 611 or take the phone to a...

Unfortunatly this has nothing to do with messages being delayed by days voicemail or text messages. And actually if a cell is busy, you'll get out a TXT message before a voice call anyday. That said....

VM issue, call up Customer Service have them get
