Porting question please

I have two lines of verizon service on a family plan. (89.99 1400min) I want to port the primary number to another carrier. At what point do I call verizon and have the secondary number switched to a single plan? Should I call first and switch both numbers to an individual account then port? Help me please.

Thanks in advance all

not a good idea...if you leave the secondary on the plan without a primary it will be charged per minute until you put it on a single line plan. I'd switch the secondary to a single line plan first.

that's incorrect if you port out the primary you would be contacted to change the plan on the 2ndry and if no contact it would be changed for you, billing systems have an edit and dont allow a stand alone 2ndry...keep in mind you're probably going to be required to change your contract too

I just called verizon and switched both lines to an indivdual account, then ported. What ever happens, so be it. I got my blade and love it, thanks for the help all.
