cheesy phones

Does anyone know if Verizon is planning on introducing Samsung A900 or something similar?
How about something with display on top so calls can be checked easier? Kyocera 7135 had it right but it's a bit bulky.
Recently they have been offering all kinds of cheesy handsets. (no offense to cheese)
Are they trying to cater to 5 year olds?
It almost seemed like they were on the right track with motorola v3c. However, this hanset is two years late in CDMA (with no analog fallback) and at this point other carriers are offering similar gsm v3 handsets for free. Also, this handset has no 2.5mm connector leaving only blue tooth option. Great . . . now you have to remember to charge 2 batteries ☹️

The Motorola Razr V3c design was Motorola's idea, not Verizon's. Motorola made that phone to work totally wireless. Everybody should know that Verizon likes to disable the bluetooth for everything except for the headsets. I don't know if any headsets have been created to work from the USB plug or not, or even a data cable. Verizon's delay in getting the Razr released allowed regional carrier Alltel to release the CDMA version first, and Alltel is known to wait a lot longer to release phones that Sprint & Verizon carry. As for analog, that's about to disappear from all phones. Already all V-Cast capable phones have no analog backup on them. Samsung's last phone made with analog backup was the a650, which is what I have. It's a basic t...

but my next phone will likely be an all-digital phone, unless I decide to get the Nokia 6256i from the Verizon Wireless store inside Circuit City, since Verizon Wireless, for some unknown reason won't sell it in their corporate stores and corporate mall kiosks.

Just to clarify, this phone was going to be carried only in Radio Shack. Since they no longer sell VZW it was decided that the handset could be sold at Circuit City locations. It is not in the retail stores and kiosk because of the shear numbers. Not enough can be produced to support carrying it in the retail stores and kiosk. Hope this answers your questions or otherwise clears up your confusion.

If that would have been the case, being only sold in Radio Shack, then I would have had to get a different phone if I could upgrade now. I had such a bad experience with Radio Shack that I refuse to deal with them for wireless service ever again. The NW Indiana Radio Shack stores don't allow the ...

They will be coming out with the Samsung A930 sometime in Q1 2006.

I personally think the selection right now is the best it has been in a very long time.

I'll second dat... stuff like the LG V, RAZR, Nokia 6236 an' 6256, Moto E815, Treo 700W, Blackberry 7130, Samsung 970, Moto Q and Sammy 930 on the way... their phone selection has gotten lots better over the last few months.

Now, what they do to these nice phones in some cases, wit' the crippled bluetooth, and VCast Music not playin' nice with mp3s, that is a different (and truly whack) story.

Yes, they have selection but of what... I don't like funky designs. Take two Blackberries for example. I would take 7250 over 7130 any day.

And I like the 7130 better than the 7250 in your example. That just shows why it is important that they carry a wide variety of phones. Because what you like, I'm going to think is ugly and vice versa. You will never please everyone with 1 single phone.

Wow... dat's the first time I've ever heard anyone call Verizon's phones "funky".

The usual complaint is that the phones are too boring and mainstream.

There is a rumor that verizon will get the blade, but you must keep in mind it will be the same as their other phones. (Ugly UI, crippled Bluetooth) I can certainly understand your pain about the lameness of the phones. I for one choose quality service over cool phones and sub-par service. Maybe Sprint works better in your area then it did mine. Sprint doesn’t work to good indoors in my area. Pick your poison 🙂

At my work, I just tell everyone to grab a landline. Up here, every signal drops if you take a few steps.
