V60 Recall?

A Motorola dealer in my area told me that the V60i/p/s phone had been recently recalled due to a charging port issue. Has someone else heard of this recall? If so, let me know.

I have a v 60 i and it wont charge at all......the only way to charge my phone is to take the battery out and put it in another motorola phone.....


cant wait for the 710 so i can finally have a functioning phone.....


so fustrated right now....

I will confirm this.

Yes there was a recall in general of the moto v60 series phone. We sent back the ones we had in stock. Earlier releases of the v60s and v60p were ok.

This charging issue was a SEVERE problem with the v60c and v60i and for the most part it was solved in the v60s and v60p.

This is my observation below.

What happened then was moto was giving away a folding travel ac charger with the v60c and v60i. Apparently 95% of the charging issues (such as the "unable to charge" thing) came from that charger. Most customers I took care of by exchanging that v60 travel charger for a straight plug v120 ac charger. The folding charger DID NOT have enough amps in it. It had something like 200 amps and the v120 ac home charger wa...

Some of the newer Nextel phones also use this particular battery (not sure on models). This ought to make for interesting experiences at Nextel dealers in the next few months... 😁
