Upgrading 100% of network to EV-DO?

Will Verizon ever be able to upgrade it's entire own network to EV-DO? There was rumor before that they wouldn't be able to due to technology differences in certain areas in which they have towers.

If so, will this affect how Verizon competes in the future, if they can or cannot upgrade their entire network past 1XRTT data?

thats a tough question. i don't think its would be because of tech differences but cost and make-up cost. meaning if they put ev-do rev-a in iowa how many people will use it and pay as opposed to how much vzw is putting out to fund the network.

my guess is when its all said and done the area's that can make up the cost will get it and then a while from then every data spot will have ev-do. just my guess

Verizon has yet to offer it in my zip code. They offer it in most of northern Lake County Indiana, but where I live, they haven't added it to their towers yet. It'll only be temporary though, but I don't know how much I'll use it, or if I ever will. I might use the internet occasionally, especially if I decide to go to an auto auction.
