Quick Question

Okay-I know you Verizon reps read these posts so here's my question-i travel thru the west virgina area quite a bit-actually Fairmont west virginia. Question is can I get service or is this a roaming area.? Next question-I'm looking at the Kyocera SE47 but have been told its digital only-I see that there's a SE44 but any word on when Verizon would be offering this tri-mode phone. Last question-I take it since the SE47 is digital only that if I'm in a roaming area thats analog I'm S-O-L is that correct?

Looking at our internal maps, it looks like there is plenty of coverage in Fairmont, WV. Is on our extended network, so if you were going to go with the SE47, it will still work there. That particular area is covered by digital service. I have never heard of us offering the SE44. Normally a similar phone with a different model number is often made for a differnt carrier, so i wouldn't count on VZW to have it. As far as your last question, if you were to go with the SE47, and went to an analog area, it would not work at all, you would have to have a tri-mode phone. Hope this helps.

Well, about the only thing that fits that description is the Audiovox 8900. I don't know if I would call it a "good phone" though.

I might have misread that post, though. If you DON'T want a camera, the Motorola V60S is pretty good, if you can find one.

Thanks again-What I was saying that I'm not hung up on a camera-I personally think its overkill, but if I can find a good phone and it comes with a camera then yes that fine I just won't be using the camera-I've narrowed it down to the following-LGVX4600,AUDIOVOX CDM8900,CDM8600,A670,SAMSUNG-A650. I do want a phone that offers analog service so I'm staying away from the SE47. Well off to the store I go!

I have the 8900 and the sound quality and volume levels are horrible. If you turn it up to the highest level the distortion of sound is painful, even with a Jabra headset.

The speaker is practically useless - if this is a main criteria to you, don't depend on this phone.

VZ's tri-mode's are limited right now and the sales reps may try to talk you into the 8900. Test it thoroughly before you buy - take the live phone and have them call you on it and see if the sound quality meets your needs.

Maybe I have a lemon - but I've heard other people have the same problem.

Good Luck! Let us know what you come home with.

That phone is NOT one I recommend. Some of them are good, but a large number of them just don't meet my personal quality requirements. The Samsung A650 is pretty good, but it doesn't have an external CID - not a big deal to me, but for some people it is.

Well, the only 2 phones on that list that meet your trimode requirement are the 8900 & the A650. Of the two, I personally prefer the Samsung A650, simply because I've had far too many 8900s come back as unsatisfactory. If you can find a _NEW_ LG VX4400, that might be a good buy. It's a solid ph...
