VZW deal/phones/online
First, since when did Radio Shack stop carrying VZW? Bummer.
Today I went to Best Buy because they have the pink RAZR and I wanted to check it out. Well, I can't get a discount because I'm not up for my NE2, and I'm already a customer. So, the phone would be $399.
Although, I know I've been to other stores, who'll discount the phone if I sign a 2-year agreement (from what I've seen, including VZW stores).
So, since VZW no longer has the pink one online (at least not for my zip), should I go hunt one down at a VZW store, or hunt one down at a authorized dealer.....and will they give me money off for resigning my contract?
Thoughts? I don't now how the system works, so be patient. đ

Unfortunately, the only way to get a discounted phone through VZW will be to either a) be eligible for an upgrade or b) start a new line of service. Look at it this way. If VZW were to give you a new phone every time you were hoping to get one just for signing a new 2 year contract, you could sign a new contract every 2 months and continue to get new phones, and so would everyone else, and then your cell phone provider would go bankrupt from being extremely charitable. âšī¸

1. because by signing a new contract (using your example), every two months, you would have to pay a VERY high fee to disconnect.
2. If say the phone is $100 with new contract, by using a 2-year contract, wow, you're giving them, let's say $100/mo, so that's $2400. Granted, they do have to pay for other services.
I have bought phones before, with a discount, not free. DISCOUNT. Even if it's $50. VZW is offering $100 online, on a black RAZR for signing a 2-year contract. They're always offering money off online. In stores, I usually get discounts if I resign a contract.

If you signed a two year agreement and are on a 35+ plan you can receive ne2 at 22months. Promo price is usually between 125-200 off headset with new agreement. Ne2 discount is an extra 100 off that. So ne2 they are giving you $225-$300 off a new headset. The changes to ne2 will not effect you this time around, but the next time you upgrade. It is changing from $100 off to $50 off for people on lower end rate plans( on top of the already discounted promo price) If you are on a high end rate plan and belong to the merits program they will let you upgrade after 12 moths with new agreement, you will not receive ne2 price but can get promo price. otherwise you are sol and pay retail. vzw customer care may give you %25 off retail if you ask but t...

Thanks for the info. First, I already know how the NE2 works. But always good info to have. Secondly, I was saying that in the past (not necessarily my immediate past phone purchase), I have bought phones, under the promo with only a renewal of contract, w/o the NE2. So, it was part of the promo. You could buy the phone, at different rates, if you were a new customer, if you had NE2, if you agreed to renew your contract for 1-year, if you agreed to renew your contract for 2-years.

nope...the website says new 2 yr but thats a new cust or when elig to upgrd or ne2....if no ne2 or upgrd, its full retail evevn if u re-sign.....only exceptio...early upgrd.....59.99 o higher plan and more than 12 months since last upgrd. that causes new 2 yr and discount but u loose the ne2........been like that for AWHILE now

Yeah i am not sure what is being smoked where cherbear is at but they don't seem to be following. The pricing on the web with a two year agreement is for new customers or custoemr eligible for upgrade, past 22 months of current agreement or 12 months if you belong to merits proggram. If you do not fall into either of those categories then it is full retail for you, maybe %25 of retail if you call and ask custoemr care nicely.
